Currently based out of Seattle (WA), Jason Cressey has been an active member of the Seattle music community since 2009. During this time, Jason has emerged as a well-respected collaborator, section player and soloist within the Northwest music community. As a frequent performer, Jason exemplifies what it means to be a professional musician, demonstrating a wide breath of musical styles and abilities ranging from jazz, blues and funk to hip hop, electronic dance and pop. Jason has gained attention from fellow musicians and listeners alike for his unique sound, dynamic stage presence and overall collaborative personality.
Jason earned his degree in Marketing from Western Washington University in 2007 and studied under internationally renowned bassist, Chuck Israels. After graduating from WWU, Jason began working towards a career in music which ultimately lead him back to his home town of Seattle. Jason currently performs with Odesza, Grace Love and the True Loves, Marmalade, Pyramid and Funky 2 Death (F2D). Jason has also made appearances with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, March Fourth Marching Band, Blitz the Ambassador, Luc & the Lovingtons, Tubaluba among many others.
As a private instructor, Jason enjoys working with students of all skill levels and specializes in ear training, music appreciation and performance techniques. Jason is currently accepting new students and welcomes invitations for school visits, clinics and master classes.
